The Making of “Sugar My”.

Lights, camera, music.

When a Grammy nominated top 40 pop artist writes a song with another Grammy nominated artist it can only mean that another hit is in the making.  Jann Klose collaborated with Alex Forbes to write “Sugar My” during the pandemic and when everyone came out from the depths of their homes it was time to create a music video that showcased not only their writing and singing talents but the talents of our team.  Honey Rose Records and Big Management reached out to us with a vision and idea to take “Sugar My” down a rabbit hole.  Luckily our Artistic Director and Choreographer was ready to collaborate and take on the challenge.

After several meetings about concept, look, tone and feel we were ready to film, little did we know that this was only the beginning of something much bigger.  The idea for the video was to take people in this state of being closed off from each other, the world, and void of emotion, much like how we were during the pandemic, then slowly the masks are lifted, and life, energy and connection is found again.  It took two songwriters, one record label, one Management company, ten dancers, one choreographer, one make-up artist, three cameramen, and one awesome day of filming to create “Sugar My”.  Following an immersive editing collaboration by the A2V team, the video was released and has now surpassed over 500,000 views on YouTube and it’s not slowing down. The video helped propel the song to a Top 40 Billboard Hit!

After we all saw the impact this video had, people wanted to learn how to “Sugar My”.  Our Choreographer Ej took to the studio recruiting her students and taught them how to "Sugar My"

Thinking that this was it and our experience and time on this song was over we were wrong.

After completing a second music video for Jann and Honey Rose Records, Flesh and Blood (We Are One), Jann was hitting the road to tour and a special stop on the tour was made in Fairfield, CT.  Honey Rose was thinking of a way to make this stop extra special so once again with the help of Ej and the A2V team, it was now time to go from music video to live performance.  Ej did what she does and recruited over 40 company dancers from the Lee Lund Studio of Dance in Milford, CT under the direction of Ambere Rogers and Debi Passarelli to recreate the YouTube sensation on stage for a full night of music and entertainment.
